Biography

Heidi’s first brilliant career plan was to marry Paul Newman. She was 13, Paul was pushing 50 and there was also the small matter of Joanne Woodward, so it never really panned out. In her teens she had a brief stint of wanting to be an actress, but unfortunately she was rubbish at that too. Her next great idea was to be a film director, but she settled instead for being a film journalist after leaving university, thinking that if she couldn’t make films at least she could get paid to watch them.

One wonderful husband, two sons and a lot of really bad B-movies later and she was ready for another brilliant career plan…  And luckily she didn’t have to look very far because, ever since Paul failed to propose, she’d been devouring romance novels. Linda Howard, Nora Roberts and Susan Elizabeth Phillips were just a few of her heroines. So she branched out into the wonderful world of romance writing.

Her first novel Bedded by a Bad Boy was published in 2007 by Harlequin Mills and Boon, her second, The Mile-High Club, was nominated for a RITA award in 2008 and she topped the Waldenbooks Series Romance Bestseller list twice in a row in 2009 with her fourth book, Pleasure Pregnancy and a Proposition. Her sixth book, Public Affair, Secretly Expecting made her a USA Today bestseller and she hasn’t looked back since.

And actually she’s having so much fun, she’s almost not sorry that first brilliant career plan didn’t work out.

Heidi lives in London but loves to travel, particularly in America, where she does a Thelma and Louise road trip every couple of years with her best mate (although they always leave out the driving off a cliff bit).
